The MRBC

The Moroccan Rare Birds Committee (MRBC), or Commission d'Homologation Marocaine (CHM), was formed in 1995.

As of beginning 2012, it will be composed of 12 members:

Michel Thévenot, one of the key-founders of the Committee, resigned in October 2011. Ahmed Sayad has not been re-elected (Oct 2011).

MRBC aims to gather data on rare or little known birds in Morocco, and thus to increase the current knowledge of the Moroccan avifauna.

The list of species considered by MRBC includes true vagrants (i.e. species with fewer than 30 records), and rare or little-known species whose current status is inadequately known.

We strongly urge visiting birdwatchers to submit descriptions of relevant species to the MRBC Secretary:

Prof. Jacques Franchimont, Quartier Abbas Lamsahdi, rue n°6, n°22, 50000 MEKNES V.N., Morocco j.franchimont@live.fr
